Office of the Chairman·

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Chairman Dauda, joined the rest of the world in celebrating Mother's Day, extending warm greetings to all mothers and women across the local government.

In a heartfelt message, the Chairman described mothers as the quiet heroes of society — nurturing, sacrificing, guiding, and inspiring those around them. He acknowledged that the strength of every thriving community can often be traced to the dedication and resilience of its mothers.

Chairman Dauda paid special tribute to the women of Ikeja, recognising their remarkable contributions across commerce, education, public service, and community leadership as vital to the socio-economic development of the local government.

Reaffirming his administration's commitment to gender-inclusive governance, the Chairman stated that the Ikeja Agenda remains firmly dedicated to policies and programmes that support the growth, protection, and empowerment of women. He pledged to continue promoting initiatives that expand opportunities for female entrepreneurs, strengthen family welfare, and encourage women's participation in governance and community development.

The Chairman and his wife, Mrs. Temitope Dauda, jointly celebrated all mothers and women in Ikeja, praying for their continued strength, good health, and long life.

He also called on the broader community to honour, respect, and support mothers, emphasising that strong families remain a critical foundation for sustainable development and a more prosperous Ikeja.
