Condolence Visit to Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku

Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, led apex leaders of Ikeja and members of his Executive Council on a condolence visit to Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku, popularly known as Baba Eto, following the passing of his beloved wife, Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 59.

The late Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ondo State, was remembered as a woman who lived an exemplary life of compassion, charity, and selfless public service, whose contributions to humanity and the lives she touched will remain evergreen.

Speaking on behalf of the Ikeja apex leaders, Chief Funso Ologunde described the late Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku as a woman of virtue, honour, and uncommon generosity whose life was dedicated to the service of God and humanity. He prayed that Almighty God would comfort Baba Eto and the entire Odumbaku family, granting them the strength to bear the painful and irreparable loss.

On behalf of the Executive, Management, and Staff of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Dauda presented an official letter of condolence to Baba Eto and expressed heartfelt sympathy to him and the entire family. He prayed that Almighty God would grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss, noting that though she is no longer with them, her legacy of kindness, love, and dedicated service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
